the color of praha

things happen

here are some things that happened since my last entry four months ago:

1) i quit my job at the portrait studio, didn't work for 3 months, and went back to work at the group home. how exciting, eh?

2) i bought a plane ticket to london and another plane ticket to prague and, in no particular order: went to london and prague for a combined total of 15 days, fell in love, fell out of love (sorta), cried a LOT at heathrow airport, drank really excellent beer, hung out with 3 albanian men one night, hung out with 1 albanian man 4 nights, hung out by myself for most other nights, walked a lot, spent 5 quality days with my best friend, got acquainted with australia, ate two delicious bacon/egg/cheese sandwiches in old town, ate 3 really delicious meals prepared by a man named bujar and took a lot of lovely photos.

3) i applied for 7 americorps programs and...

4) got offered a position with one program located in arizona and...

5) accepted the offer! aka I'M MOVING TO ARIZONA.

6) got "kicked out" of porter's pub. HA. HA.

clean... dirt?

things i don't want

I don't want a pair of flip-flops free with any purchase. I don't want Presidents' Day sales at car dealerships. What do cars have to do with presidents' birthdays? I don't want Easter blow-out sales at toy stores. What do sales at toy stores have to do with Christ? I don't want to feel guilty driving by the mom-n-pop gas station so that I can buy gas two cents cheaper at Quik Check. I don't want to see a WaWa open up 15 feet to the left of the 7-11. I don't want to feel pressured to stengthen my core or lose 15 pounds because an actress on a commercial is acting like she strengthened her core and lost 15 pounds with (insert generic weight loss program name here). I don't want to see "East Side" spray-painted on my nieghbor's garage door.

this is from seeing the Red Elvises in London.
which was a show not attended by many.
so it was like a prrriiiiiivate show for us.
and we danced on stage!
and the lights were so bright! and the room was relatively small.
but light bounced everywhere.
oh and ps: i don't photoshop. what what!

strudel in vienna, mmmmmmm

I really ate 6 pieces of this strudel over a 2.5 day period. But I walked it all off on my self-guided walking tours of the entire city. I even tried to bring some back to Salzburg to share with the friend I was staying with, but I think I ate it all on the train ride home.

aftermath

Not like we're known for a tidy kitchen, but this is a bit out of the ordinary. The aftermath of a delicious meal of baked salmon and parmesean noodles. I like the circles.

booooowl

Bowling is a pretty big deal in our family. At least once a year we have a "Beegle Family Bowling Reunion." Usually attracts between 30 and 40 family membs. Always great fun!

kisses

I've seriously never seen more gorgeous little girls then these two. I love being an aunt.

case of the concrete crazies

So I went to Cape May, NJ last week with three friends. Well, first we went to Wildwood, NJ to participate in the Polar Bear Plunge. Then we went to Cape May. Anyway, on the beach at Cape May we saw this huge crazy concrete structure just sitting on the beach, on the edge of land and water. It had no tresspassing signs all over it. When you walked around the side of it closest to the water you could crawl under it. That's how I got this picture. I really like this one. Especially the paths of light and dark. Anyway again, does anyone know anything about this structure?

the cool kids

I definitely love shoving the camera in people's faces! Good thing these people are my family and they don't mind. I love headshots, especially when I don't look through the viewfinder to take them. These pics are also from our christmas eve celebration. Cute family, huh?!

when everyone is a kid

So Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Mostly because I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews and Christmas is better with kids around. These four kids are very photogenic and make it easy for me to take good pics.
